The Company
Our client is a well-established and respected office fit-out specialist headquartered in Manchester, delivering high-quality commercial interiors projects across the UK. With a current turnover of circa £10m and ambitious plans to grow to £16m, the business is investing in key hires to support its next phase of expansion.
They deliver projects ranging from small works to major refurbishments, typically valued between £40k and £1.6m, and pride themselves on quality, collaboration, and repeat business.
The Role
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a key role, responsible for leading tenders, producing accurate and competitive cost plans, and supporting the business’s growth strategy.
You will work closely with Directors, Project Managers, and the supply chain, playing a pivotal role from initial enquiry through to final submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of tenders and cost estimates for office fit-out projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and employer’s requirements
- Prepare detailed take-offs, cost plans, and pricing documents
- Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers
- Evaluate risk and opportunity within bids and advise senior management
- Value engineer solutions to maximise competitiveness and profitability
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously to tight deadlines
- Attend tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy
- Support junior estimators where required
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within office fit out / commercial interiors
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market rates
- Experience pricing projects from £40k up to £1.6m
- Ability to manage full tender process independently
- Commercially astute with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
