You should also be confident communicating with clients, subcontractors and operational teams, particularly when negotiating variations or dealing with commercial issues. A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial subject would be preferred, with CIOB or RICS accreditation considered an advantage. What you will be doing with your experience You will take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated construction projects, ensuring costs are controlled and projects remain financially on track. You will also manage valuations, variations and payments, making sure the financial position of each project is accurately recorded and reported. Producing CVRs, Cost to Complete reports and financial forecasts will be an important part of the role, giving senior management a clear understanding of project performance.
