We are seeking a Procurement Administrator to join our team in Wigan. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stage of their career, particularly an individual looking to develop within construction and potentially progress into an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (QS) role in the future.
The role is office-based and will provide hands-on exposure to procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor engagement within a construction environment.
Key Responsibilities- Liaising with builders merchants to obtain the best prices for materials
- Learning and applying basic negotiation techniques with suppliers
- Sending out quote enquiries and tender packages to subcontractors
- Chasing subcontractor quotations and ensuring timely responses
- Collating and passing quotes to the Commercial Manager (CM) and Quantity Surveyor (QS)
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
- Supporting the commercial and procurement teams with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Someone at the start of their career, ideally with an interest in construction or commercial roles
- Strong communication skills, confident speaking with suppliers and subcontractors
- Organised and proactive, with good attention to detail
- Willingness to learn procurement and commercial processes
- Must be based locally to Wigan due to the office-based nature of the role
- Previous administrative experience
- Exposure to construction, procurement, or quantity surveying environments
- Ambition to progress into an Assistant QS role over time
- Salary of approximately GBP25,000 per annum
- Full training and development in procurement and negotiation
