About you

You have recently completed a Quantity Surveying degree and achieved at least a 2:1. Now you are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor role where you can learn properly, work alongside someone experienced and build a long term career rather than just filling a seat. You are ambitious and want to be part of a business that is growing because you know that creates more opportunities to develop, take on responsibility and progress. You enjoy building relationships, have a good eye for detail and want to work for a contractor where your contribution will be recognised.

Your experience

You will have recently graduated with a Quantity Surveying degree and achieved a minimum 2:1 classification. Any placement year, work experience or exposure to construction, fit out or refurbishment projects would be useful, although the most important thing is your attitude and willingness to learn. You will be organised, keen to develop your commercial knowledge and excited about building a career in Quantity Surveying.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will join the Stevenage office and work closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who will support your development from day one. The office is turning over around £19 million and forms part of a well established construction business with a turnover of approximately £60 million, so you will be joining a business with the stability to invest in your future. Around 75% of the projects are industrial fit out and refurbishment, with the remaining 25% being commercial fit out. This will give you the chance to gain experience across a variety of projects while developing the commercial skills needed to become a successful Quantity Surveyor. The salary is around £28,000 to £30,000 depending on experience, with regular pay reviews, an annual bonus and genuine opportunities for progression as the business continues to grow.

About the business

This is a well established construction contractor with ambitious growth plans and an excellent reputation for delivering industrial and commercial fit out and refurbishment projects. They believe in developing people from the start of their careers and creating opportunities for those who want to progress. If you are looking for somewhere that will invest time in your development rather than expecting you to know everything already, this is the sort of environment where you can build a successful career.
