You're a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having real involvement in projects rather than being just another number in a large commercial team. You like taking ownership of your own work, building relationships with operational teams and having a clear view of how the projects you're managing are performing. You're commercially aware, organised and comfortable working across several live fit out and refurbishment projects at the same time.
This role would suit someone who wants responsibility, variety and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while still remaining hands on with project delivery. You'll have experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the fit out and refurbishment sector.
You'll be confident managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously, with project values ranging from £100,000 through to £3 million. Experience working on office fit out projects and industrial refurbishment schemes will be important. You'll understand cost management, valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts, forecasting and final accounts.
Just as importantly, you'll be comfortable communicating with Contracts Managers, operational teams and directors to ensure projects remain commercially on track. You'll take responsibility for the commercial management of four to five live fit out and refurbishment projects from start to finish.
You'll be managing costs, preparing valuations, overseeing subcontractor accounts, monitoring project performance and protecting margins throughout the project lifecycle. Alongside your own projects, you'll work closely with the Contracts Managers at month end to help pull together the commercial reporting required by the directors for board meetings. This gives you visibility across the wider business and the opportunity to play an important part in commercial decision making.
The role is based from the Manchester office, giving you direct access to the wider commercial and operational teams. You'll be joining a well established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high quality fit out and refurbishment projects across the commercial and industrial sectors. The business has built long standing client relationships through repeat delivery and a practical approach to project management.
The package includes a salary of £60,000 to £65,000 plus car allowance.
