The Civils Estimator plays a key role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of civil engineering works, particularly within renewable energy and utility infrastructure projects such as BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and PV solar developments. The role involves analysing drawings and specifications, pricing works including earthworks, drainage, concrete structures, substations, and associated infrastructure, and supporting the tendering process to secure profitable and deliverable projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil engineering works, including:
- Earthworks (cut/fill analysis, bulk excavation, ground modelling)
- Concrete works (including plinths for electrical equipment in BESS and PV solar projects)
- Drainage systems (foul, surface water, attenuation, ducting)
- Substructure and foundation works
- Road construction, formation layers, and pavements
- Excavation, trenching, and duct installation
- Fencing, security barriers, and perimeter works
- Section 278 (S278) highway works and site access construction
