Roften Galvanizing Ltd are currently looking for an experienced multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer/Fitter responsible for the upkeep and repair of machinery and equipment used in the galvanizing process at our 7 acre site at Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, with a proactive approach and excellent troubleshooting skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Repair of cranes, hoists, pumps and motors
  • Completion of planned preventative maintenance routines associated with all plant and equipment, including mechanical and basic electrical diagnosis and repair and refurbishment including corrective and reactive works
  • Resolution of ad-hoc breakdowns, fault diagnosis and analysis (must be able to commute to Ellesmere Port within 30 minutes)
  • Inspection, testing and monitoring of equipment and process chemicals to ensure safe operation of the plant
  • Co-ordinate and supervise specialist contractors when required
  • Supporting the business and production team as required
  • Management of all logs, maintenance schedules and adherence to regulatory compliance
  • Operate with safety as a priority
  • Basic Factory/Building maintenance

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC/HND)
  • Experience working in a similar maintenance role within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Electrical fault finding (ideally experience in Three phase electrical installation)
  • Certified 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (advantageous)
  • PLC systems (basic), motors, drives and electrical drawings would be beneficial
  • Previous experience working with overhead cranes/hoists
  • Working with planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Working at heights - up to 10m
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends, with occasional callouts during evenings and weekends
  • Full driving licence
