Business Development Manager / New Business Location: London (Bank) / Hybrid – office, home and client meetings Salary: £40,000 FTE / pro rata for part-time hours + quarterly bonus Hours: Full-time or part-time considered Contract: Permanent We are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a well-established and respected organisation based in London. The organisation has clients covering a wide variety of sectors and also puts on exciting events in London on a bi annual basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive new business professional who enjoys generating leads from scratch, identifying new opportunities, opening doors and building strong relationships with prospective clients. The role will have a clear focus on new business development, B2B lead generation, prospecting and building a strong sales pipeline. You will take ownership of identifying potential clients, making initial contact, arranging your own appointments and developing opportunities through to conversion. This is a genuine business development and new business role. Rather than relying solely on inbound enquiries or warm leads, you will be confident generating your own leads and creating new opportunities. You'll have the support and credibility of an established organisation behind you while being given the autonomy to develop your own approach to business development and client acquisition. The organisation offers flexible hybrid working, combining home working, time in its London office and face-to-face meetings with prospective clients. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed. Key Responsibilities As Business Development Manager, your responsibilities will include: - Proactively generating new business leads and opportunities - Researching and identifying prospective B2B clients and key decision-makers - Undertaking outbound prospecting and making initial approaches to potential clients - Building and managing your own new business pipeline - Setting your own client meetings and appointments - Developing relationships with prospects from initial contact through to conversion - Understanding prospective clients' needs and presenting relevant solutions - Delivering professional and engaging presentations, both virtually and face-to-face - Communicating confidently with senior stakeholders and decision-makers - Following up new business opportunities consistently and professionally - Maintaining accurate records of business development activity, prospects and next steps - Working to convert opportunities into long-term client relationships - Working towards agreed business development and new business targets - Contributing to overall growth and client acquisition About You We're looking for a confident, motivated Business Development Manager, Business Development Executive, New Business Executive or B2B Sales professional who enjoys creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to arrive. You'll be a self-starter who is comfortable identifying prospective clients, making initial contact, securing meetings and presenting professionally to senior decision-makers across a broad range of sectors. You'll ideally have: * Previous business development, new business or B2B sales experience * A driven attitute, excellent people skills and commercially aware * A proven ability to generate your own leads and new business opportunities * Experience of outbound prospecting and lead generation * Experience building and managing a new business pipeline * Confidence setting and leading your own client meetings * Strong presentation and communication skills * The ability to develop relationships with senior stakeholders * A professional and consultative approach to sales and business development * Strong relationship-building and influencing skills * Good organisation, follow-up and pipeline management skills * The drive, resilience and self-motivation required for a new business role * The ability to work independently while being part of a supportive and collaborative team Experience within B2B sales, professional services, consultancy, training, education, subscriptions or other relationship-led environments could be beneficial. However, we're particularly interested in candidates with a strong track record in lead generation, new business development and building client relationships.
