Reporting to the Assistant Bar Manager at Roehampton Club, one of London\'s premier private members multisport clubs, we offer a wide range of sports including golf, tennis, health club, and squash, and a wide catering provision, delivered to the highest standards of quality. Significant investment is being made to enhance the standards across the club with the goal of achieving excellence in all areas. The club\'s six catering outlets include events, carvery and retail style outlets. The role of Bar Team Supervisor within our professional Food & Beverage Department is to support the F&B Management team by co-operating and performing to the optimum best potential on an everyday basis. Job Purpose: To lead the Bar team within the operation, control and development of the Food & Beverage department.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operation of the Club Bars, event bars, and banqueting operation as well as any other catering offers developed within the Club and ensure that agreed standards are maintained.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction and training of F&B team.
  • Ensure that the highest standards of care to members are provided by improving and maintaining standards of F&B service throughout the Club.
  • Liaise with chefs on a daily basis, including typing menus and holding briefings.
  • Liaise with other department heads and colleagues to ensure effective and efficient management of the Club.
  • Ensure the Club meets H&S and Food Safety Management requirements at all times.
  • Weekly cleaning schedule and ice cleaning schedule.
  • Help to plan departmental rotas for the Bar, including monitoring and controlling hours and overtime expenditure for staff.
  • Ensure effective control of bar stock, and undertake a weekly stock take in this area.
  • Stock takes emailed to the Food & Beverage Manager every week.
  • Ordering stock for the Bar from our suppliers using the Club\'s purchase order system.
  • Maintain an organized stock order folder.
  • Control wastage and security of stock in the Bar.
  • Maintain effective cellar management and cleaning duties.
  • Organise thorough cleaning duties ensuring high standards are maintained every day.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of any other tasks reasonably requested by the F&B manager or other senior manager.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience at supervisory level, in a similar high profile, high turnover site.
  • Good communicator. Have the ability to deal with complaints where appropriate and refer these to senior managers when necessary.
  • Calm under pressure and a positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a small team.
  • Monthly talk times and email the Food & Beverage Manager with the schedule each month.
  • Trustworthy and reliable.
  • Ability to use own initiative and manage the team\'s work schedule.
  • Good customer care skills including respecting internal and external customers.
  • Understanding of current legislation in regard to Health & Safety and hygiene.
  • Understanding of stock control and EPOS systems.
  • Sound IT skills.
