Theatre & Events Technician

(37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, full-year)

Salary: £31,211 per annum

At Roedean School, we are dedicated to providing a world‑class education that inspires and empowers girls aged 11‑18 to achieve their full potential. Our stunning cliff‑top location overlooking the sea, combined with our rich heritage and commitment to academic excellence, makes Roedean a truly unique and inspiring place to learn and work. We are proud of our inclusive and supportive community where every student is encouraged to pursue their passions and develop the skills they need for future success.

Roedean offers an exceptional environment for the performing arts, with a busy programme of productions, concerts and external events. This role provides the opportunity to work with talented students and staff in a professional theatre setting, using a wide range of industry‑standard equipment and technologies.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and technically skilled Theatre & Events Technician to support our vibrant Performing Arts department and theatre complex. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in theatre, live events or performance technology who enjoys working in a busy and varied environment.

You will have experience of providing technical support for a range of performance events and have strong knowledge covering all aspects of theatre operations. We are looking for someone who is confident with the design and operation of sound, lighting, AV and wider technical requirements.

Roedean is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
