This one‑year post is suitable for a person wishing to gain experience in an independent boarding school. It is a residential role with shared accommodation provided at the school. The postholder will work within a boarding house and a relevant department in the school, depending on qualifications and interests (for example academic teaching, performing arts, marketing or boarding). The successful candidate will immerse themselves in the life of the school community, gaining experience in a particular department and supporting the School’s extensive co‑curricular programme as well as the boarding community.
Roedean is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School may ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self‑declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent,” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) to assess suitability to work with children.
