Entering our centenary year, Rodo has established itself as the UK’s leading supplier of decorative accessories, with range expansion during the 1970’s into safety footwear, workwear and personal protective equipment. These categories were brought under the Blackrock Workwear brand in 2004 and have enjoyed sustained growth throughout the past 22 years.

Due to continued success, we are now recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Manager to cover the Island of Ireland. This is a great opportunity for a sales professional to join a well-established and successful company.

Job Overview

This is a hybrid area sales manager position, with a requirement to effectively manage distribution customers within the territory, whilst also identifying, developing and nurturing new opportunities. You will be required to promote Blackrock’s ranges, including our leading range of Safety Footwear, hi-visibility clothing and hand protection. Experience of these product ranges, and knowledge of distribution customers within Ireland is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets, full turnover and margin accountability within your sales ledger.
  • Manage and develop opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Build share of wallet through cross and upselling of Rodo products.
  • Conducting gap and trend analysis with customers to ensure all opportunities are capitalised on.
  • Identify and develop new distribution customers.
  • Organise field training on new products to both customers and end users in support of distribution partners.
  • Autonomy on pricing to customers, using your commercial experience and judgement to maximise revenue growth.
  • Provide expertise and input to the development of new products.
  • Represent Rodo at trade events and exhibitions.
  • Coordinate with all departments internally to ensure customers receive industry leading service throughout all interactions with Rodo.
  • Feedback to the management team with customer insights, opportunities and competitor and market activities.

Experience

  • Proven success of selling products within the personal protective equipment and clothing market, or associated industries.
  • Previous experience working in a B2B sales environment.
  • Knowledge of the PPE distribution market preferable.

  • Ability to negotiate within widely set parameters.
  • Excellent communication skills both with customers and head office.
