We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Vehicle Development team. This is a rare opportunity to work on bespoke motorsport and high-end automotive components, taking projects from concept through to testing and integration. You’ll own the lifecycle of major vehicle systems, applying first-principles engineering and cutting-edge tools to deliver world-class performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for major vehicle systems, from concept through prototyping, detailed design, analysis, production, and testing.
- Design and develop components for vehicle sub-systems including suspension, body-in-white, powertrain, aerodynamics, and ancillaries.
- Create robust, high-quality CAD models using best practices.
- Perform structural analysis of critical load-bearing components using FEA tools, supported by hand calculations and physical testing.
- Produce and peer-review outputs including technical drawings, requirements, diagrams, procedures and manuals to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead design reviews to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Develop test equipment and procedures for validation of mechanical systems.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-performance environment (motorsport, high-end automotive, or aerospace).
- Advanced proficiency in CAD and PLM software (Siemens NX / Teamcenter preferred).
- Experience with structural analysis and FEM simulation (Altair Hyperworks preferred).
- Skilled in producing and reviewing technical drawings (GD&T experience ideal).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, composites, and additive manufacturing.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to thrive under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to make complex decisions.
