Overview: At Rodericks Dental and Dental Partners, we’re continuing our journey to become the leading dental services provider in the UK. A strong IT foundation is crucial to support this ambition. As part of our expanding IT function, we are looking for a highly capable IT Infrastructure Engineer to support the delivery, maintenance, and improvement of our technical infrastructure. Working under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will assist in managing and supporting on-premises and cloud infrastructure, contributing to the stability, security, and scalability of our IT estate. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys solving problems, working across a broad range of technologies, and growing their infrastructure expertise. You’ll be joining at an exciting time where innovation and improvement are actively encouraged. You’ll work alongside senior engineers and project teams, delivering changes and maintaining systems critical to our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers.
- Monitor core infrastructure (firewalls, switches, storage, backups) and respond to alerts.
- Maintain and support Microsoft 365 tenant, Azure AD, and Exchange Online components.
- Conduct routine tasks such as VM creation, firmware upgrades, patching, and data backups.
- Participate in project rollouts including new site/acquisition setup, infrastructure upgrades, and migrations.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery processes, including testing.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues and escalate as needed.
- Work collaboratively with 3rd party vendors and internal stakeholders to support infrastructure requirements.
- Contribute to documentation and maintain asset/configuration records.
- Uphold system security standards and contribute to policy compliance (password policy, patching, device control).
- Support wider IT team initiatives when required.
Technical Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Microsoft 365 administration
- Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, NAT, VPNs)
- Firewalls (Barracuda, Fortinet, or similar)
- Backup and recovery tools (Veeam, Syncrify)
- NAS/SAN storage systems
- Working knowledge of VoIP (Avaya IP Office)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (SNMP, RMM)
