RVS is situated on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta including the Siksikaitsitapi (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi Pikuni), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney), and the Rocky View Métis District. The Opportunity: RVS invites you to apply for a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Learning Support teaching position starting August 27, 2026 until June 25, 2027 at Heloise Lorimer School. Heloise Lorimer School is located in the City of Airdrie and serves students from grades K-6. This position is not open to those holding a Continuing Teaching contract with RVS.
The following qualifications are preferred for the Learning Support Teacher:
- Minimum 5 years classroom teacher experience
- 1-year educational background or experience in one of the following areas:
- Learning Supports
- Inclusive Education
- Special Education
- Disability Studies
Pre-employment Requirements: Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate. To be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate you must have applied for initial certification with Alberta Education at www.alberta.ca/teacher-certification. The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment. Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months.
