ROCKWOOL Denmark SailGP Team is a leading professional sailing team competing on the global stage in the high-performance SailGP series. Representing ROCKWOOL and Denmark, the team is recognised as one of the greenest sports teams in the world and is a SailGP Impact League champion. The team combines elite sporting performance with a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation. Candidates joining the team will contribute to a purpose-driven organisation that promotes environmental responsibility and high-impact storytelling in international sport.
ROLE CONTEXT
The voice and storytelling engine of the platform. In an elite-sport commercial operation, social and comms is how the property stays visible, grows its owned audience and delivers the partner exposure that underpins commercial value, a real-time, always-on function that never fully switches off during a season.
PURPOSE
To build awareness, engagement and narrative around the platform while delivering measurable value to partners. To turn the 970K+ ecosystem reach into an active, growing, owned audience and to make the platform feel like one coherent story across racing, hospitality, technology, and commercial programmes.
THE BREADTH OF THE ROLE
This role owns all outward-facing communication: social channel strategy and publishing, community engagement, press and partner announcements, executive and internal comms, crisis-comms response, and the content rhythm that proves the platform between events. It works hand in glove with CRM on audience conversion and with the Designer on craft.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Social media: Own channel management, content strategy and calendar, publishing, campaign execution and community engagement across all platforms; grow reach and engagement.
- Communications: Deliver press releases, partner announcements, executive and internal communications, and crisis-comms response under the approval matrix.
- Commercial support: Deliver partner campaigns, hospitality promotion, event communications and audience-growth initiatives; evidence partner deliverables.
- Content rhythm & capture: Hold the cadence that proves the platform between events; capture and turn around live content at events in real time, feeding CRM and partner reporting.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT & STANDARDS
Represents ROCKWOOL Racing, American Magic and the team's partners to the highest professional standard always, on-site, online and in private, the brand is judged by the conduct of the people who carry it. Operates with absolute discretion and confidentiality around commercial, sporting, partner and personal information; signs and honours NDA and data-handling obligations. Holds themselves to the same performance, accountability and substantiation standards as the athletes do what they say, flags problems early, and never over-promises what cannot be delivered. Works collaboratively across a small, high-trust team; no role is an island, and ego is left at the dock. Carries the brand voice with judgment, fast and creative, but always on-brand and aware that every post is the team speaking publicly; handles sensitive and crisis moments with discretion and the correct approvals.
ENGAGEMENT BASIS & COMMITMENT
This is a contractor engagement with the clear intention to extend as the platform scales. The successful candidate operates as an independent contractor, responsible for their own tax and statutory obligations, and is engaged under a defined contract for services with agreed deliverables, standards, and notice terms. Social and comms are inherently always-on live events, and breaking moments and global time zones mean the channels do not keep office hours. The role rewards someone who loves the immediacy of live sport and wants their work seen by a global audience.
EXPERIENCE & PROFILE
- Background: Social and comms leadership in sport, sponsorship, or premium-brand environments.
- Discipline: Channel strategy, publishing, community growth, crisis comms and partner-campaign delivery.
- Character: Storyteller who can move fast at an event and hold brand consistency across every channel.
- Drive: Energised by live sport and real-time content; comfortable working race days, evenings and across time zones.
