About the Role
The Transport Planner will report to the Transport Planning Manager and will be part of the transport planning function. They will ensure the timely generation of accurate schedules for shunting, trunking and delivering within the UK distribution and Export markets.

Your Background
- Strong organisational and logical thinking skills, with the ability to plan schedules, journeys and loads while making quick, flexible decisions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people at all levels across the organisation
- Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with SAP knowledge considered an advantage
- Proven problem-solving ability, particularly in resolving route complications and excess volumes to ensure on-time and complete delivery
Main Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily and weekly despatch schedules for a fleet of up to 100 vehicles, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations
- Oversee all planning activities for full and part load consignments, covering direct and multi-drop deliveries across the UK, Ireland and Worldwide
- Generate and upload daily shipment schedules onto the Transport Management System, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records
- Produce all required Customs Clearance documentation for export orders, ensuring compliance and timely processing
- Create and analyse transport routes to ensure commercial viability and cost-effectiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Liaise with the Planning team to coordinate and align daily and weekly volumes, ensuring smooth operational flow
- Work closely with hauliers to provide customer support delivery information and updates, maintaining strong working relationships
- Manage the reservation and booking of specialist vehicles, ensuring availability aligns with despatch requirements
- Provide timely delivery status updates to our Aftercare team, ensuring customers receive accurate and up-to-date information
