ROCKWOOL UK are seeking a technically focused Certification Engineer with expertise in fire resisting products and strong working knowledge of the EN 13501-2 classification standard, particularly for Fire Protection and Fire Stopping products. In this role, you will review fire test reports, interpret results in line with EN 13501-2, and support the development of classification scopes that form the basis for CE marking and third-party certification schemes.
Your Role
- Review and analyse fire resistance test reports and develop classification scopes in line with EN 13501-2
- Interpret test data to determine appropriate fire resistance ratings (e.g. E, EI)
- Support the preparation of classification reports in accordance with EN 13501-2 and, where relevant, extended application standards (EXAPs)
- Work with third-party certification bodies to support product approvals under schemes such as CE marking and UKCA
- Prepare, maintain and organise technical files and evidence packages for certification submissions
- Collaborate closely with product management, technical support, marketing and commercial teams to support product development, testing and certification activities
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and external partners
- Represent the business at relevant trade associations and industry standards committees as required
- Contribute to the planning, setup and implementation of fire resistance testing programmes
What You Bring
- Experience in fire testing, certification or compliance engineering
- Experience attending design team and site-based meetings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong report-writing capability
- Ability to work on own initiative
- High level of IT proficiency, including PowerPoint as a key tool
- CAD literate, with ability to create and modify CAD drawings
