As the Senior Head Chef at Rockwater, you will play the leading role in the Rockwater kitchen team ensuring the highest standards of food quality, food safety standards, health and safety standards and tight cost controls.
Working alongside the Executive chef to create and execute incredible menus to ensure our guests have the best Rockwater experience possible.
- Work with the Group Head Chef to create innovative and appealing menus that meet the expectations of guests.
- Stay updated on food trends, dietary preferences, and guest feedback to enhance menu offerings.
- Ensure menu items are cost-effective while maintaining quality and value.
- Oversee the day to day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Compliance with legal requirements under the Health & Safety Act 1974 and food hygiene.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
- Conduct regular inspections of ingredients and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Manage food costs by controlling portion sizes, minimizing waste, and negotiating with suppliers.
- Monitor stock levels and order as necessary without overspending.
- Work closely with all kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with front of house to address guest feedback and preferences.
- Work closely with the events team and be aware of upcoming private hires and events and be prepared to create and deliver bespoke menus and dining packages.
- Provide ongoing training to kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends and share knowledge with the team.
