Assistant Bar Manager Responsibilities
- Support the Bar Manager in guiding and inspiring a dynamic bar team to ensure seamless operations, efficient labour, high hygiene and safety standards, tight stock management and cost control.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance and cleanliness of Rockwater through training of employees whilst maintaining a positive and productive working environment.
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the wine, cocktails and spirits at Rockwater.
- Take an active approach towards menu development and continually seek new ideas and ways to improve the offering.
- Develop and maintain relationships with reps and suppliers.
- Maintain a complete understanding of all policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensure that all bar/coffee equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and regular maintenance, including line cleans, and reporting of any issues.
- Effectively manage guest complaints and resolve them so the guest leaves happy and not feeling the need to escalate. Report any issues to Senior Management.
- Responsible for all areas of beverage stock management including ordering, deliveries, stock counts and wastage, and ensure stock control is managed by delegating appropriately and following up accordingly.
- Have an extensive understanding of Rockwater and the various experiences we offer our guests, including our Openwater subscription.
- Ensure new starters are fully trained and integrated into the Rockwater team.
- Lead by example and motivate the team to deliver the best service through feedback and incentives.
- Work closely with Senior Management to help achieve the monthly revenue and profit targets.
- Oversee and ensure that regular employee performance reviews are completed.
- Ensure that all bar staff are delivering the “Rockwater Experience” at all times to all guests by following the Waves of Service standards from the welcome to the farewell.
- Know who our members are and strive to build relationships with them.
- Build guest loyalty and ensure that all bar staff are aware of members, regulars and VIPs and are providing individual, engaging service at all times.
- Possess astute financial awareness and ensure effective payroll management, taking into account weekly forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures throughout Rockwater, including health and safety and food safety procedures.
- Maintain responsibility for leading, inspiring and motivating the team to achieve stability, increased productivity and employee loyalty.
- Work closely with the events team and assist with the organisation, management and delivery of events.
The Ideal Candidate
- At least 1 year experience as a Bar Manager or supervisor in a high volume venue.
- Experienced in managing large teams.
