Rockstar North is on the lookout for a talented Dialogue Editor, who possess a passion for dialogue in games.
This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.
WHAT WE DO
- The award-winning Rockstar audio team combines all audio disciplines, designing and implementing the sound, music, and dialogue technology as well as content for our games.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit, clean-up, and mix dialogue in Pro Tools and Reaper.
- Develop and apply creative effects chains for offline and real-time dialogue processing.
- Collaborate with our Audio R&D and Tools teams on advanced dialogue processing tools.
- Upload assets through source control.
- Provide daily and/or weekly status reports.
- Collaborate with colleagues at other R* studios as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering, Audio Production, or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Professional experience working in audio for games, film or TV production.
SKILLS
- Experience with Pro Tools, Reaper or other industry standard DAW software.
- Experience using audio software and plugins for audio cleanup, mixing and mastering.
- Experience using audio software and plugins for creative dialogue processing.
- Detailed understanding of audio editing / mixing and video and audio synchronization.
- Knowledge of dialogue loudness standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, and work under shifting deadlines.
- Demonstrated success within a swift, efficient, well-structured, and disciplined team, with a proven track record of consistently performing in a high-volume, fast -turnaround environment.
- Approaches tasks with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing loyalty and a robust work ethic.

- Experience with batch approaches to efficiently master dialogue at scale.
- Familiarity with modular audio processing software like Max or PureData.
