Rockstar Games is on the lookout for a skilled Data Operations Engineer with strong automation, process monitoring, and problem-solving skills who is passionate for both games and big data. This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of London.
WHAT WE DO
The Rockstar Analytics team provides insights and actionable results to a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization in support of their decision making. We partner with multiple departments across the company, leveraging analytics to measure and improve on the success and health of our games. We collaborate as a distributed team to develop innovative data pipelines, data products, data models, reports, analyses, and machine learning applications. The Data Science Operations vertical within the Analytics team ensures seamless execution of scheduled ML and data model process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Engineers to understand process flows and business needs.
- Design and implement standardized alerts and runbooks to streamline issue identification and resolution in Rockstar’s Analytics data platform.
- Partner with other Analytics Engineering, MLOps and Data Integrity teams to monitor the health and success of our ongoing processes.
- Create both manual and automated processes to ensure that we are meeting our Data Contracts and standards.
- Establish a framework for monitoring, alerting and reviewing Data Pipelines and ML models to ensure they are aligned with our best practices for efficiency, cost, quality, and stability.
- Provide technical expertise for the data science team to utilize APIs, libraries, automation, and other technologies to improve and streamline our workflows.
- Provide Level 1 support for urgent issues or outages during regular work hours, enforcing SLAs/SLOs.
- Conduct root cause analysis, develop Correction of Errors documents, and ensure seamless handovers to US/UK time zone teams for unresolved critical issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related).
- 3 – 5 years of experience in analytics, data operations, ML operations, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (PySpark).
- Experience with containerization and CI/CD tools (Docker, TeamCity, Octopus, JFrog Artifactory, GitHub).
- Experience with Orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect others).
- Experience with cloud data platforms, particularly Databricks and Snowflake is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on technical documentation.
- Passion for Rockstar Games and our titles.
