This role will lead communications strategy and media relations within the United Kingdom and Ireland, working with Communications leadership to generate strategies for all Rockstar Games initiatives.

Candidates will have experience delivering comprehensive blockbuster entertainment campaigns, a thorough understanding of current media and social media landscapes, from major mainstream networks to core specialist outlets and emergent media formats; and the ability to create powerful and innovative press and publicity opportunities. Candidates will be proactive, organized and forward-thinking, and a highly effective communicator with the ability to work well with teams across disparate locations. The successful candidate will share Rockstar Games’ passion for advancing culture and entertainment, possess exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to high-quality output no matter the task. This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of London.

WHAT WE DO

The Communications Team lead, develop, and implement strategic communications for all Rockstar Games projects including some of the biggest and most innovative entertainment properties in the world. We work with the publishing team to help introduce each new Rockstar Games product to the world, formulating messaging strategies and product positioning from reveal to launch, review and beyond. We manage media relations for all Rockstar Games properties. We coordinate product launches for high-profile console, PC and mobile gaming titles, as well as ongoing communications around Rockstar Games’ live services and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In conjunction with the global team, create, design and lead region-specific communications strategies for all Rockstar Games properties consistent with Rockstar’s overall brand strategy and philosophy.
  • Collaborate across multiple internal teams, agencies, external partners and more.
  • Identify target outlets, foster and maintain media contacts across all verticals and platforms.
  • Generate local coverage in line with local and global communications objectives.
  • Monitor local media coverage and sentiment of all Rockstar Games projects.
  • Stay up to date with and regularly analyze changes to the modern media landscape to inform global publishing planning.
  • Comfortably balance and prioritize a wide variety of project-specific deliverables.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of communications experience in video games or related entertainment field.
  • A strong roster of existing media relationships in entertainment and culture spaces.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of successful strategic marketing/communications campaigns across entertainment and culture.
  • Proven track record of objective-led and met campaigns and/or initiatives.
  • Comprehensive portfolio, including creative writing, accolades, and KPIs.
  • Exceptional planning, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Thoughtful approach to all facets of work, with a genuine desire to achieve the best possible results, and above all, continue to learn.
  • An acute awareness of how to craft effective messaging and achieve wide-scale visibility across the media and social platform landscape.
  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to both autonomous and team-based workflows.
  • Ability to remain calm, cool, and collected in high-pressure scenarios, ultimately bringing a positive, solutions-oriented attitude to all interactions.
