Operations Specialist - Surrey
A luxury travel operator in Surrey is looking for an Operations Specialist ( Reservations team ) with recent experience in after sales, operations or customer relations within Travel. You will join a close-knit, collaborative team in a business that has grown hugely over the last two years, and you will be one of the go-to people for every booking once it has been made. If you are calm under pressure, love solving problems, and want to work for a company that still rewards its team with a free holiday every year, this could be the one for you.
Operations Specialist - What will I be doing?
You will look after bookings once they have been made. That covers everything from amendments, upgrades and rebookings to cancellations and refunds. You will also add flights to bookings and manage flight schedule changes on Amadeus.
You will have your own phone queue for existing bookings and help manage the team inbox, so this is a busy, people-facing role, not a back office admin job. You will help with customer relations, call guests when they get home to hear how their holiday went, and cover sales calls from time to time. When things change at short notice, you will help the team rebook and keep guests and agents informed.
Operations Specialist - What experience do I need?
- Recent travel industry experience in reservations, after sales, operations or customer relations
- Customer relations experience would be a real plus
- Flights or GDS experience is a real bonus (ideally Amadeus), but not essential
- Calm under pressure, able to think on your feet
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and confident on the phone
- A team player who enjoys helping others succeed
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- A genuine passion for travel, and for giving people a five star experience
Operations Specialist - What else do I need to know?
This is a permanent, full-time role, based in the Surrey office (five minutes' walk from the station, with free parking). It is hybrid, with three set days in the office every week. The hours are 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, plus a about one Saturday in every four weeks, with a day off in lieu.
The salary is between Β£32k - Β£34k depending on experince plus a generous team incentive. After probation, you will also get a free holiday every year, with five extra days of leave to take it, plus private medical and a pension. There is a two week induction to help you settle in, and they would love someone who can start before Christmas.
If you are a calm, organised travel professional who loves looking after people, we would love to hear from you.
