Job Title: Events Operations Supervisor

Location: Rockliffe, Darlington

Salary: £34,000 per annum

Hours: 45 hours per week

Reports To: Events Operations Manager & Food & Beverage Manager

Job Purpose

The Events Operations Supervisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional experiences across weddings, conferences, private dining events, celebrations, and corporate functions at Rockliffe. This is a hands-on, service-led position responsible for overseeing designated event spaces, supporting event delivery, and ensuring every occasion is executed to the highest standards of luxury hospitality.

Working closely with the Events, Food and Beverage, and Culinary teams, you will lead by example throughout service, ensuring seamless operations, exceeding guest expectations, and creating memorable experiences that reflect the quality and reputation of Rockliffe.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the delivery of weddings, conferences, celebrations, private dining events, and corporate functions, ensuring exceptional service throughout
  • Ensure event spaces are fully prepared, presented, and operationally ready ahead of guest arrival
  • Coordinate closely with kitchen, bar, and event teams to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery throughout each event
  • Monitor service standards and guest satisfaction, adapting proactively to meet changing requirements
  • Support event set‑ups, room turnarounds, and breakdowns, ensuring all activities are completed efficiently and to agreed timescales
  • Ensure event specifications, guest requirements, and special requests are delivered accurately and professionally
  • Support the supervision and development of event team members, providing guidance, coaching, and direction throughout service
  • Lead by example through professionalism, enthusiasm, and exceptional hospitality standards
  • Deliver pre-event briefings and maintain clear communication throughout each event
  • Maintain a visible presence within event spaces, engaging with guests and providing effective service recovery where required
  • Ensure event spaces remain impeccably presented, organised, and reflective of the resort's luxury standards
  • Uphold health and safety, food hygiene, allergen awareness, responsible alcohol service, and data protection requirements at all times
