Help young people feel safe, supported and cared for through the night
At Dovedale House Children's Home, every night is an opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
We're looking for compassionate, resilient and dedicated Waking Night Care Workers to join our team.
In this rewarding role, you'll provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment throughout the night, helping children feel secure, supported and cared for.
Working with children and young people aged 9-17 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you'll play an important role in promoting their wellbeing, supporting their routines and ensuring they feel safe within their home environment.
You'll be more than a night worker.
You'll be a trusted adult, helping children settle, responding to their needs during the night and supporting them to begin each new day feeling safe and ready to succeed.
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, working 10pm to 9am on a rota basis, including weekends and occasional daytime shifts.
- What You\'ll Be Doing
- Providing overnight supervision and support within a safe and nurturing home environment.
- Supporting children with evening, nighttime and morning routines.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Promoting children's emotional wellbeing and responding appropriately to their needs during the night.
- Carrying out health and safety checks and maintaining a secure environment.
- Completing accurate records, reports and handovers.
- Supporting the day-to-day organisation of the home and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
- Working as part of a team to provide consistent, child-centred care.
- Supporting children to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
