Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 + benefits package (including 25 days annual leave).
Based in Weston-Super-Mare, our client is a well-established, fast-growing European market-leading specialist in sustainable manufacturing services and partner to major OEMs, such as Ford, JLR and many others. They are an entrepreneurial business, committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business.
Due to the nature of their work supplying to OEMs, they comply with the highest quality standards, creating a "best practice" environment. This smaller, more entrepreneurial company offers a unique opportunity to gain a broad set of skills, including commercial, customer-facing, technical, and true engineering-based problem solving. They pride themselves on mentoring and developing their people, fostering a culture where you will be expected to take ownership, make decisions, and be autonomous.
You will have a clear vision for best practice, a focus on making sustainable change in pursuit of efficiency, and proven experience of implementing Lean (or similar) methodologies into a manufacturing facility. In this role, you will become the subject matter expert within your field and take responsibility for ongoing process development, supporting new product introduction (NPI) and change management within production.
They have won a significant new contract and have others due to land in the near future, offering the right person a real opportunity to add value. As a Manufacturing Engineer, your role will also support the maintenance of a variety of engineering activities for current production programmes to ensure compliance with customer-specific and business requirements/objectives.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience of lean or another similar methodology
- Designing tools, fixtures, jigs & components, supported with drawings and coordinating their manufacture
- Factory layout optimisation
- Sourcing and managing subcontractors
- Liaising with customers
- Continuous improvement within a manufacturing operation
