Our client is a well-established, fast growing European market leading supplier of sustainable services within Automotive manufacturing, with a 40-year proven track record, partnering with major OEMs, such as Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, GM and many others. They are an entrepreneurial organisation focussed upon customer service, profitable growth and on developing new markets. Due to on-going expansion both within core business and broader fields, they are committed to driving continuous improvement and strategic development throughout the business and as part of this growth and succession planning, they now wish to appoint a proven Logistics Manager.

A pivotal role within the business, you will be responsible for managing the goods in process for all raw materials along with contributing to the development of the company’s 'core’ procurement strategy. You will be a proven leader, adept at bringing the best out of your team and motivated by best practice and continuous improvement. The company offers on-going training and development and ideally you will be ambitious and willing to develop your career in line with the growth and other requirements of this exciting business.

Skills / Experience:

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, to include internal transportation for all Units
  • Introduce Kanban systems where appropriate
  • Utilise ERP system to maximise efficiencies in receiving product, and method of delivery to point of use incorporating Bar Code technology & stock control using PI Counting methodology
  • Warehouse management to ensure efficient use of space and ensure appropriate material handling equipment including Forklifts used throughout the Business.
  • Supervise, coach and train warehouse teams
  • Keep track of quality, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets
  • Maintain driver Quality and No-show rate
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Working with the purchasing team to effectively manage procurement strategy, considering quality, cost & delivery impact.
