Our client is a well established, dynamic and highly profitable supplier of technology products and services to an impressive, international customer base. Due to growth, they now seek to appoint a new position of Financial Controller - the role will be varied and will suit someone who likes to be busy, is able to multi task and who takes a pro-active approach to work. Reporting to the finance director, with support from 2 accounts assistants, this will be a broad and hands-on role including purchase ledger, payroll, data management, fixed assets, lease agreements, VAT, tax, budgeting and management accounts.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing all purchase and debtor ledger transactions
- Payroll
- Maintenance of a Fixed Asset Register
- Maintenance of loans/debt/hire purchase/operating leases
- Maintenance of property lease agreements and payments
- VAT - ensuring VAT returns are submitted on time and payments to HMRC as required.
- Preparation of year end accounts for audit.
- Corporation Tax - providing information to Auditors/Tax advisers for timely completion of Corporation Tax returns and payment of Corporation Tax.
- R&D Tax credits - organising the information to submit annual R&D tax claims within filing deadlines.
- Production of an annual budget by month and revenue forecasts
- Production of Monthly Management Accounts
- Maintenance of all Journal Entries
- Adhoc involvement with HR & HR admin including liaison with our third party HR provider
Qualifications and Expectations for Role
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant
- Strong interpersonal (written and oral) communication abilities
- Must be willing to work in a team and in an office environment.
- Experience in Sage 200 an advantage
- Commercial acumen
- Proactive and able to anticipate with a methodical approach to problem and issue solving.
