At RocketFin, we specialise in deploying cutting-edge risk and trading technologies for some of the most complex energy operations in the world. We partner with leading firms at the intersection of energy markets, quantitative finance, and enterprise technology connecting talent with the programmes that matter.
We are looking for a Beacon Engineer to join a strategic technology programme at one of Germany's largest integrated energy companies, a business spanning the full energy value chain, from renewable generation and nuclear phase‑out through to physical and financial trading across European markets. With over 5 million customers and a trading operation that spans power, gas, carbon credits, and direct marketing with 200+ European counterparties, this is a client operating at genuine scale.
This is a hands‑on Beacon engineering role embedded in a live, high‑stakes trading environment. You'll work alongside experienced quants, traders, and risk professionals to develop and maintain Beacon‑based solutions that support real‑time decision‑making across complex multi‑commodity portfolios.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and maintaining models, scripts, and workflows within the Beacon platform
- Supporting risk analytics functions including P&L, mark‑to‑market, and scenario analysis
- Working with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into Beacon solutions
- Contributing to the integration of Beacon with the broader ETRM technology stack
- Assisting with trade lifecycle processes across power, gas, and other commodity portfolios
- Participating in testing, quality assurance, and deployment of platform changes
What We're Looking For
- Hands‑on experience with the Beacon platform – configuration, scripting, and model development
- Understanding of energy or commodities trading concepts (power, gas, or financial products)
- Exposure to risk and trading workflows – ideally within an ETRM environment
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced trading technology programme
- Clear communication skills – comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with OpenLink Endur or similar ETRM platforms
- Experience in European energy markets
- Exposure to quantitative modelling or risk analytics
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle, settlements, or market operations
Why This Role
This isn't a role where you'll be learning on toy problems. From day one, you're working on a live energy trading platform at a firm that moves real volume across European markets. You'll gain exposure to enterprise‑grade Beacon implementations, build relationships with experienced professionals across risk, quant, and front‑office teams, and develop skills that are genuinely hard to acquire elsewhere.
If you're early in your Beacon career and want to accelerate fast, this is the environment to do it.
RocketFin is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building diverse, inclusive teams and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
