Key responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems and structures for recovery vehicles — bodies, booms, subframes, platforms and hydraulic interfaces
- Create 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
- Produce 2D technical drawings in AutoCAD for manufacturing and assembly
- Ensure designs comply with safety standards, regulations, and load requirements
- Perform basic engineering calculations for strength, load capacity, and material selection
- Collaborate with production, fabrication teams, and suppliers for practical, cost-effective designs
- Maintain accurate documentation, part lists, and revision control
- Assist with continuous improvement of existing vehicle designs
Required qualifications & experience:
- Education: BEng / equivalent in Mechanical or Design Engineering
- Autodesk Inventor: 5+ years — 3D modelling & assemblies
- AutoCAD 2D: 5+ years — detailed engineering drawings
- Manufacturing: Welding, fabrication & machining processes
Technical skills:
- Read specs, problem-solve, strong attention to detail
