A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced Sliding Head CNC Turning specialist to join its expanding production team in Rugby. You will be working in a modern machining environment, producing high-precision components across a diverse range of industries and materials.
The Role
- Taking ownership of the full programming, setting and operating cycle on Sliding Head Turning Centres, supporting both new product introduction and ongoing production.
- Program and edit CNC programs using Fanuc controls.
- Set and operate Sliding Head Turning machines safely and efficiently.
- Produce first-off components to engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Manage tooling wear, offsets and tool life throughout production runs.
- Carry out in-process inspection using a range of measurement equipment.
- Accurately record production, setting and scrap data within production systems.
- Support continuous improvement, TPM and routine machine maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-run working environment.
What We’re Looking For
- A solid background in Sliding Head CNC Turning, ideally with hands-on experience of Star machines and Fanuc controls.
- A strong grasp of tooling, cutting data, machining strategies and material behaviour.
- Experience working with aluminium, steel, titanium and Inconel.
- Confidence using inspection equipment and first-principles measurement.
- A keen eye for detail and a quality-focused, proactive approach.
