Job Title: Electrical Estimation Specialist (Electrical Estimator) Location: Northamptonshire Job Type: Temporary to Permanent Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the successful delivery of industrial electrical projects by producing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates. Working within process-driven environments such as manufacturing plants and utilities, you will play a key role in preparing tenders, evaluating project requirements, and contributing to business growth. Key Responsibilities * Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, specifications, and tender documentation. * Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical installation projects, including: * Power distribution systems * Motor Control Centres (MCCs) * Control panels * Instrumentation * Cabling and containment systems * Produce material take-offs and labour estimates. * Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and specialist subcontractors. * Compile comprehensive tender submissions in accordance with client specifications and deadlines. * Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations. * Liaise with project engineers, designers, project managers, and clients to clarify technical requirements. * Maintain estimating records and support project handovers to the delivery team. * Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Person Specification Essential * Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within industrial, manufacturing, process, or utilities sectors. * Strong understanding of industrial electrical installations and systems. * Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and P&IDs. * Knowledge of: * BS7671 Wiring Regulations * Industrial electrical standards * Hazardous area installations (ATEX) * Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
