The Role
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects or contracts from inception through to completion, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, commercial functions and clients to ensure contractual obligations are met and project objectives achieved.
This position would suit an established Contract Manager with a strong background in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities, who can demonstrate experience managing complex projects, leading operational teams and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Contract & Project Management
Manage the delivery of multiple civil engineering and infrastructure contracts from mobilisation through to completion.
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, specifications, programmes and budgets.
Develop and monitor project delivery strategies, construction programmes and resource plans.
Monitor project performance, identifying risks, delays and potential issues and implementing corrective actions.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Managers, Site Engineers and subcontractors to ensure effective project delivery.
Oversee project handovers, completion documentation and defect resolution.
Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, environmental requirements and company procedures.
Promote a strong safety-first culture across all project teams and subcontractors.
Ensure appropriate risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans are implemented.
Monitor quality assurance procedures, inspections, testing and project documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, specifications and client requirements.
Relevant Project Experience
Candidates should ideally have experience delivering one or more of the following:
Civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Highways construction, maintenance and improvement schemes.
Highways drainage, surface water and foul water drainage systems.
Utilities infrastructure, including water, wastewater, gas, electricity or telecommunications.
Water and wastewater treatment works.
Groundworks, earthworks, reinforced concrete and structural civils. xgikmsk
