Rocket Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Programmer, Setter, and Operator looking for a stable, long-term role with regular overtime and strong company benefits.
Salary: £17 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday – 39 hour week 6:45am – 3:30pm
Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield
Overtime opportunities are available. The first 16 hours of overtime are paid at time and a half, with any hours over 16 paid at double time. There is also the opportunity to work every other Saturday, paid at time and a half.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have solid experience programming CNC milling machines
- Have experience setting and operating CNC machines, machining large components with Heidenhain controls
- Be confident in programming, setting, and operating using Heidenhain control systems
- Be able to write and edit CNC programs
- Be capable of working to tight tolerances
- Have experience with medium to large batch production of large components
- Be confident working with components up to 2m in length, using provided lifting equipment
- Demonstrate 10+ years’ experience within your work history
- Have strong knowledge of 3–4 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds, feeds, and geometric tolerances
- ISO 9001:2015 experience would be advantageous
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Machining complex parts and components from materials such as Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Changing tooling
- Inspecting finished components
- Using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, plug gauges, verniers, screw plugs, and ring gauges
- Working effectively as part of a team
