About the Role: As a Roadside Recovery Mechanic, you’ll attend vehicle breakdowns across the Bradford area, carrying out effective on-site repairs to ensure buses can safely return to the depot. This is a key role within the engineering team, helping to keep services running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out repairs or temporary fixes
- Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and techniques
- Drive a company vehicle to breakdown locations
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Accurately complete breakdown reports and documentation
- Collect parts from stores when required
- Support the engineering team with additional duties as needed
About You:
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Basic mechanical knowledge or qualifications (e.g. SVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
- Familiarity with diagnostics and repair techniques (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
- PCV licence is advantageous, but training will be provided
