Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable HGV Technician to join our team at our Wrexham site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and diagnosis of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring the fleet is kept to the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Ensure all vehicles meet DVSA and company safety standards
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
- Respond to overnight on-call breakdowns once every two weeks (paid extra for this)
- Work collaboratively with the workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Proven experience working as an HGV Technician
- Strong hydraulics experience (essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
- Good attention to detail and a strong safety mindset
