About Splash Damage

Based near London, Splash Damage is one of the UK’s longest-running independent game development studios. For over two decades we’ve built team-based shooters that bring players together through cooperation, competition, and shared experiences. Our teams have contributed to some of the industry’s biggest franchises, including Batman, Halo, and Gears of War, as well as creating original titles such as Brink and Dirty Bomb. Today the studio focuses on developing engaging multiplayer experiences in partnership with leading publishers, while continuing to invest in both new projects and our existing franchises, including the open-world survival game SCUM.

About the role

You will work within cross-functional teams, owning tasks and features across a range of gameplay areas, balancing player-facing quality with technical robustness, and delivering features on-time and to a high level of quality. We believe that constantly improving on our skills is an essential part of the job and incorporate this into our daily projects.

  • Breaking down your work into measurable and achievable tasks.
  • Writing clear, maintainable, and portable code.
  • Communicating ideas, intent, trade-offs, and constraints to both technical and non-technical team members.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Professional development experience with real-time networked multiplayer games.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to self-organise.
  • Experience working in one or more phases of game development, from feature design and implementation to bug-fixing and polish.
  • Experience with, or an appetite to explore what modern AI advances can bring to game development.
