Roles & Responsibilities Overview

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Club Managers and senior leadership team to support the overall operational management of Rocket Padel Ilford & Beckton. The role will involve overseeing day-to-day operations across both venues, ensuring the clubs operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards at all times.

Operational Management

  • Supporting the day-to-day operational running of both clubs
  • Ensuring high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and customer experience across all areas
  • Coordinating operations between reception, coaching, gym, events, and F&B departments
  • Assisting with operational problem-solving and ensuring smooth service delivery during peak periods
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of operational procedures and standards
  • Acting as Manager on Duty when required

Staff Management

  • Managing and overseeing staff rota scheduling across departments
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours
  • Supporting Duty Managers and team leaders in maintaining service standards
  • Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development
  • Monitoring staff performance and supporting disciplinary or performance procedures where required
  • Promoting a positive, professional, and team-oriented working culture

Safeguarding & Staff Welfare

  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and escalating concerns appropriately
  • Acting as an emergency escalation contact when necessary
  • Supporting staff wellbeing and maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment
  • Assisting with incident management and reporting procedures
  • Promoting professionalism, accountability, and duty of care across all departments

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Support food and beverage purchasing and supplier coordination
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and supporting stock control procedures
  • Supporting the daily operation of café and bar services
  • Assisting with hygiene, cleanliness, and compliance standards
  • Supporting revenue growth through strong operational standards and customer experience

Compliance & Safety

  • Supporting health & safety procedures and compliance standards
  • Ensuring operational compliance across both sites
  • Assisting with risk assessments, incident reporting, and operational follow-up
  • Supporting Duty Managers with operational issues and emergency procedures
  • Maintaining a safe environment for staff, members, and guests

Communication & Reporting

  • Ensuring staff correctly use Microsoft Teams communication channels for operational reporting, incident logging, and internal communication and updates
  • Monitoring communication standards to ensure information logged and followed up appropriately
  • Supporting structured handovers between shifts and departments
  • Assisting with operational reporting to senior management
  • Supporting consistency between both club locations

Member Experience & Community

  • Supporting high levels of customer service across all departments
  • Assisting with member enquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally
  • Supporting club events, socials, and community engagement initiatives
  • Helping create a welcoming, energetic, and premium club atmosphere
  • Supporting membership retention and member satisfaction initiatives

Partnerships

  • Supporting and maintaining strong relationships with club partners and sponsors
  • Assisting with partnership sales opportunities and commercial activations
  • Coordinating and supporting partner events and hospitality experiences
  • Ensuring partners are represented professionally within the clubs
  • Supporting collaboration opportunities between partners, events, and the wider Rocket Padel community
