Guitar Tutor Wanted β Saturdays at Rocket Music School (Meopham, Kent)
Rocket Music School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Guitar Tutor to join our team for Saturday daytime lessons at our studio in Meopham, near Gravesend, Kent.
For the last two decades, we have supported students of all ages in developing their confidence and musical skills in a friendly and professional environment. Our tutors are skilled musicians and dedicated educators committed to helping learners grow.
This role is expected to start on Sunday, 19th July 2025.
About the Role:
- This is a weekly, regular teaching position every Saturday during daytime hours.
- Teaching beginner group guitar classes focusing on chords, rhythm, basic technique, and building student confidence.
- Leading a Lead Guitar Workshop class, covering improvisation, scale theory, soloing techniques, and expressive playing.
- Supporting students working through Rockschool grades, as well as developing performance and general musicianship skills.
- Creating structured, engaging, and enjoyable lessons tailored to different ages and abilities.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience teaching guitar, privately or in group settings. Familiarity with the Rockschool syllabus is preferred.
- Strong musical knowledge and skills as both a rhythm and lead guitarist, including:
- The five positions of the minor/major pentatonic scale
- The CAGED system
- Three-note-per-string scales
- Modes and their practical application
- Own a reliable car due to our rural location and the need for punctuality.
- Have a laptop or iPad to use for lesson planning and digital resources.
- Professional, reliable, and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills suitable for working with children and adults.
- Able to bring creativity, structure, and energy to lessons.
- Must live within a 45-minute drive of Meopham by car. Applications from candidates outside this area will not be considered.
