Technical Product Manager

The Challenge:

Ingesting thousands of rich data points per second from multiple external vastly different data sources, moving terabytes of data while processing it in real-time, running complex prediction and forecasting AI models, coupling their output into a hybrid human-machine data refinement process, and presenting the result through a low-latency SaaS platform used worldwide is a significant scientific and engineering challenge.

Answering fundamental and intricate questions posed by traders, analysts, charterers, hedge funds, and other market participants involves a high level of sophistication. Ensuring the right questions are asked and answered efficiently to maximize customer satisfaction is paramount.

Vortexa delivers high-quality data and market predictions via an intuitive analytics platform, including front-end applications, an API, and SDK. The Product Management team leads product discovery and delivery to ensure products are valuable, usable, feasible, and commercially viable. They align stakeholders on vision, strategy, and roadmap, focusing efforts on the right functionalities with clear KPIs.

You will join our Product Management team as a key contributor reporting to the VP of Product. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop detailed plans for our product estate and strive to deliver exceptional user and customer experiences, maintaining our market-leading analytics platform and advancing the energy market.

You’ll Be:

• Partnering with product managers and team leads to execute the application delivery roadmap, ensuring alignment with product vision and prioritizing customer value.
• Tracking application metrics to provide actionable insights and improvement recommendations.
• Collaborating with engineering for feasibility assessments, prototyping, testing, and experience definition.
• Creating and prioritizing engineering tasks, participating in backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Aligning application priorities across teams and managing dependencies.
• Delivering cross-team product initiatives in partnership with relevant leads.
• Supporting application expertise for GUI, APIs, and plug-ins to assist other functions.

You Are:

• Experienced with high-volume, high-speed data applications, including UI and APIs.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on meeting the needs of tech-savvy customers through data.
• Collaborative, skilled in managing multiple stakeholder requests and priorities.
• Decisive, capable of making quick, measured decisions to facilitate rapid learning.
• Familiar with UX design, rapid prototyping, QA, and UAT principles.
• Eager to learn about the industry.
• Knowledgeable of tools like SVPG, North Star, JTBD, RICE, Kano, GIST models.
• Passionate about creating market-leading products and tackling transformative challenges.
• Data-driven with a strong customer focus, capable of problem identification and success measurement.
