ABOUT THE TEAM
The Maritime & Manoeuvre Dominance teams at Anduril UK develop operationally relevant, multi-asset autonomy. We are focused on making large groups of autonomous systems work effectively together. We leverage existing Anduril platforms like Ghost, Altius, and Dive XL, in addition to bringing 3rd party platforms into Anduril's Lattice ecosystem. We develop Perception and Autonomy algorithms to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers and roboticists excited about creating a powerful robotics stack that includes computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for Senior Perception Engineers to join our rapidly growing team in London, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for solving a wide variety of perception, estimation & tracking problems. You will work with computer vision, SLAM, trackers and filters, systems integration, and more, all whilst making pragmatic engineering trade-offs up and down the whole stack to do whatever it takes to go from streams of raw sensor measurements to a stable coherent combined operational picture which enables both autonomous systems and end users to complete their missions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Deploy these approaches to operational settings, by moving features along a release process that starts in simulation and ends running in an embedded and operational context.
- Research and adapt SOTA perception algorithms – everything from lit. review, through training and evaluation, to optimisation and deployment.
- Design and develop robust and efficient C++/Rust software for multi-sensor, multi-target tracking & estimation problems
- MLOPS – build and maintain automated, scalable infrastructure to manage our data and run our experiments
- Design experiments, data collection efforts, and curate training/evaluation sets to develop insights both for internal Anduril purposes as well as customers
- Drive the flight testing and test configuration for evaluating the implemented features against real data on target hardware
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid coding, algorithms, data structures and software engineering fundamentals
- BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Strong DNN/ML background and experience in standard domain libraries (numpy, opencv, pytorch, etc)
- Strong C++ or Rust experience
- Experience deploying to real-time robotics systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active UK Security Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience processing sensor measurements from Radar, Electro-Optical Sensors, RF Sensors, or LIDAR
- Experience with sensor characterisation and modelling
- Familiarity with classical and contemporary approaches for state estimation and tracking (e.g. Kalman Filter, UKF, Particle Filter)
- Sensor calibration
- Background in linear algebra and probability/stochastic processes
- Familiarity with non-linear optimisation frameworks like Ceres, g2o, GTSAM, etc
- Probabilistic inference and Bayesian likelihood estimation (e.g., Markov Chain Monte Carlo)
