Due to internal promotion, we are now recruiting for a Laboratory Process Technician to join our MRO site in Gloucester! In this role, you\’ll work with the latest equipment and the brightest minds in aerospace engineering. Job Requirements
What do I need to succeed in the role?
• A degree in Chemistry or equivalent Scientific disciplines
• OR Laboratory experience, ideally in an engineering / plating environment or equivalent – preferably gained in the aerospace or automotive sectors.
• Good IT skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High attention to detail with strong quality awareness.

What will I be doing?
• Analysis and management of vat solutions associated to salvage activity with an emphasis on Electro Plating solutions.
• Perform electroplating and surface treatment processes on test specimens in accordance with technical specifications, ensuring accurate preparation for subsequent metallurgical testing and analysis.
• Conduct metallographic preparation and analysis of test specimens using microscopy, hardness testing, and related techniques to support quality control.
• Review process control specifications to ensure compliance and optimization of existing internal Works Procedures (WPs), and develop new WPs where necessary. Provide support for Quality Management Systems as well as supporting internal & external audits (Quality/Suppliers/ MROs/WPs/Product & Customer).
• Working as part of the laboratory team in the management of the MFF plating plant. Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for vats, ancillary and environmental equipment.
This role will be working on a shift basis, including an early and late shift, rotating on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
