The Team
We are looking for a motivated Electrical Technician (f/m/d) in the UK, to help build and operate the UK's first vertical launch site on the Shetland Islands. You will lead construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of systems. Options include being based at the launch site or working on a rotation pattern.
Your Tasks
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment
- Perform LOTO to ensure safe isolation and verification of zero energy state
- Troubleshoot new and existing electrical systems, including machinery
- Perform preventative repair and maintenance of electrical systems, devices, and equipment
- Install electrical wiring and components per design and code specifications
- Maintain power distribution across the launch site
- Wire building facilities and control cabinets, and commission them
- Perform light fabrication and machining using hand and power tools
Your Qualifications
- ECS Gold Card – Installation Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Wiener/Panel Builder
- Experience in a commercial or industrial electrical environment
- Good understanding of instrumentation and control systems
- Knowledge of IT/data systems and equipment
- Ability to follow detailed electrical schematics
- Understanding of fluid systems (pneumatic, cryogenics, hydraulics)
- Experience in maintenance and repair of UPS systems
- Experience with LabVIEW, C++, structured text, ladder logic
- Experience with National Instruments and Beckhoff hardware
- Valid MEWP and forklift licence
- Experience on UK construction sites
- CSCS green card desirable
