A fast-growing specialist operational real estate investment manager is seeking to appoint an Asset/Portfolio Manager to support the continued growth and professionalisation of its asset management function. The platform manages approximately £2.bn of assets across c.140 properties, with a further 10–20 assets under construction at any given time, across the UK and Europe. The business partners with high-quality operators and developers, providing long-term equity and debt capital across multiple investment strategies.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on asset management role offering broad exposure across stabilised assets, developments and operational real estate. The successful candidate will work closely with the investment, asset management and ESG teams, taking real responsibility for asset performance and value creation across the portfolio. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys being close to assets, operators and delivery, and who wants to grow with an ambitious, entrepreneurial platform rather than operate within a rigid hierarchy.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading asset and property management across a portfolio of assets to maximise performance and value
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of annual asset management and business plans at fund and asset level
- Implementing asset management initiatives including lifecycle and extraordinary capex, disposals and tenant transitions
- Coordinating internal teams and third-party consultants across asset management, ESG and development workstreams
- Working directly with operators to monitor performance, risk and delivery, and to track asset-level business plans
- Supporting ESG initiatives, data collection and reporting across the portfolio
- Leading delivery of asset management reporting to institutional investors
- Assisting with pre-acquisition due diligence across operators, sites, buildings and developments
- Acting as a key point of contact on construction projects alongside third-party project managers
- Undertaking regular site visits to support asset planning and strategy
- Supporting insurance renewals, lease compliance, covenant testing and lifecycle capex analysis
- Contributing to the implementation of asset management systems and standardised reporting
Candidate Profile
The role will suit a candidate with 5+ years’ relevant experience in asset management, property management or operational real estate who:
- Has a strong understanding of real estate asset management fundamentals
- Is commercially and analytically minded, with strong Excel skills
- Enjoys working across both stabilised assets and developments
- Is detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple workstreams
- Communicates clearly with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Demonstrates curiosity, tenacity and a hands-on approach
MRICS or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
