Help others fall in love with data. If you’ve ever thought “I love data, but what really excites me is helping others understand it”....this could be your perfect next step.

At Rockborne, we specialise in developing the next generation of data professionals. We recruit bright, ambitious graduates and give them the technical, business, and interpersonal training they need to thrive in Data & Analytics. We also deliver bespoke training to our corporate clients, helping them upskill their teams in the tools and techniques shaping the industry.

We’re now looking for a Data Trainer (Associate Level) to join our growing training team. This is an ideal role for someone coming out of academia or a data role who’s passionate about teaching, coaching, and making complex concepts click.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll design and deliver engaging, practical sessions that build confidence and competence in key data tools, including:
  • Excel (analysis, pivot tables, formulas, charts)
  • SQL (queries, joins, aggregations)
  • Python (data manipulation, logic, best practices)
  • Power BI / Tableau (data visualisation and dashboards)
  • Data Modelling (relational and dimensional concepts)
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • You’ll teach both Rockborne’s early-career consultants and external client teams, adapting your approach to suit different levels of experience — from beginners to experienced professionals.
  • You’ll also support learners through practical exercises and real-world data challenges.
  • Create and refine training materials and documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior coaches to enhance the curriculum.
  • Keep learning yourself, exploring new technologies each year to stay current.
  • What we’re looking for

    • Passionate about helping others learn and confident presenting to adult learners.
    • Curious and proactive, keen to pick up new technologies and techniques.
    • Able to simplify complex ideas and communicate them clearly.
    • Comfortable working independently and structuring their own day.
    • Excited to contribute to a fun, inclusive, and high-trust team culture.

    You’ll likely have:

    • Experience in data analysis, engineering, or research using analytical tools.
    • Strong familiarity with Excel, SQL, and Python.
    • Some prior experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring - whether in academia, bootcamps, or workplace training (or if you’re coming from a commercial background, experience presenting your technical concepts to non-technical audiences).
    • An understanding of cloud platforms or data pipelines (a bonus but not essential).

    Why join Rockborne?

    • A role that blends data, teaching, and personal impact every day.
    • Work alongside experienced Data Coaches and industry experts.
    • Grow into delivering corporate training and developing new learning programmes.
    • Learn continuously - we explore 2–3 new technologies each year.
    • Join a company that genuinely values fun, inclusivity, and independent thinking.

If you’re ready to take your passion for data and turn it into something that inspires others, we’d love to hear from you.
