Rock Court Surgery has an opportunity for a part time member of staff within our Reception/Care Navigation team. Experience of General Practice is essential. We are looking for 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within the hours of 08:00 - 13:00.

Main duties of the job:

  • Maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointment system.
  • Care navigation at front desk, telephone and online requests for appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service.
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
  • Photocopy documentation as required.
  • Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary.
  • Direct requests for information i.e. SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team.
  • Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area always.
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.
  • Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

About us:

Rock Court Surgery has 2 senior partners, 5 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 1 Practice nurse, 1 Nurse associate, 2 HCAs and 7 reception/admin team members. Our Practice list size is approximately 5600. The practice is part of the iGPc Primary Care Network which includes 7 other Practices. As part of the PCN, we have access to Pharmacists (prescribing and non-prescribing), pharmacy technicians, care co-ordinators, social prescribers, paramedics and First Contact Physiotherapists. Job responsibilities:

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception/care navigation duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising).
