Who We Are

Rock City is one of the UK’s most iconic live music venues and club spaces, right in the heart of Nottingham. For decades, we’ve welcomed huge artists, breakthrough bands, massive club nights and thousands of music lovers through our doors. Behind every gig, club night and sold-out event is a team of people making it happen, from bar staff and floor teams to production, management, promotions, security, welfare and everything in between. We’re proud of the energy, personality and hard work our team brings to the venue. It can be busy, loud, late and fast-paced, but it’s also fun, rewarding and full of moments you won’t get in a normal job. If you love music, nightlife, people and being part of something with a bit of history behind it, Rock City could be the place for you.

Your Role

As a member of our Front Of House & Street Team, you'll be one of the first people our customers meet. You'll welcome guests to the venue, scan tickets on the door, answer basic questions, take payments at reception, store coats in the cloakroom and help create a friendly first impression as people arrive. You'll also represent the venue out and about in the city, handing out flyers and promotional offers, speaking to potential customers, and encouraging people to visit our events. Throughout the year, you'll work at Freshers' Fairs and other promotional activities, helping to build awareness of our venues and what's coming up. Alongside face-to-face promotion, you'll help create content for our social media channels, capturing moments from events, sharing what's happening across our venues, and helping bring our brand to life online. This is a varied role that combines customer service with brand promotion. We're looking for people who are confident approaching and talking to new people, enjoy being part of a team, and are happy working both in the venue and out at promotional events. Every shift is different, so being enthusiastic, approachable, and reliable is key.

About You

Experience is always welcome, but attitude matters most. We're looking for people who are friendly, reliable, and willing to learn. If you enjoy working with people, take pride in doing a good job, and can stay positive when things get busy, you'll fit in well with our team. You'll be someone who can work well with others, communicate clearly, and use your initiative when needed. Working here can be fast-paced, so you'll need to be organised, adaptable, and happy to get stuck in wherever help is needed. You don't need years of experience to apply. If you bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. We're looking for people who are dependable, take responsibility for their work, and want to be part of a team that looks out for each other.
