Röchling Automotive is seeking an experienced
Equipment Engineer to support our plastic injection molding operations and new program launches.
This role is responsible for leading the specification, procurement, installation, validation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and automation systems to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
- Lead capital equipment projects from concept through production launch.
- Develop technical specifications for injection molding machinery, automation, robotics, vision systems, and assembly equipment.
- Manage equipment suppliers during design, build, FAT, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Support new automotive program launches and manufacturing expansions.
- Collaborate with Process Engineering, Tooling, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and EHS teams.
- Drive equipment performance improvements related to OEE, cycle time, quality, and throughput.
- Participate in PFMEA activities and manufacturing risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with safety, customer, and internal engineering standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with plastic injection molding processes and equipment.
- Experience managing equipment installation and capital projects.
- Knowledge of automation, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine controls.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Engel, Husky, Krauss Maffei, Milacron, or similar injection molding machines.
- Knowledge of automotive resins including PP, PC/ABS, Nylon, and engineered thermoplastics.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
