The Accountant – Senior, as a member of the Finance Department at Rochester Regional Health will prepare and support monthly and annual financial close and reporting activities. The Accountant – Senior will develop subject matter expertise in specific areas to which he/she is assigned and will be responsible for providing analysis and support for assigned financial areas. The Accountant – Senior will lead team level project and processes and provide guidance, assistance, and training for other accountants on the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly general and standard journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, etc. to keep abreast of the field.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements for management review and assist with budget development.
  • Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • Prepare and analyze 990 workbooks and work as liaison with auditors during annual audits.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • High level of computer and software competency; proficient with database administration and infrastructure; Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

  • Proven written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: NA.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
